I LOVED this place and I give it my highest rating yet. The service was beyond my expectations and they actually took our coats at the door. The Server was very nice and had a great memory, his service gets a 7 high fives out of ten alone. The food was incredible and left me talking about it all night. Not only that, but they had two beers on tap and that was fine with me because they had lots of it (o: The catcher for me was at the end of the dinner when the server brought us all shots to top off the evening. I was in heaven and was very pleased with the entire experience. In fact, we were there for almost three hours and didn't even notice the time fly by. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes seafood, a great wine, or just a place for a romantic conversation with a side of Ham and Melon. Which I highly encourage you to try. Don Alfonso's gets an 8.5 high fives out of 10 (only because I don't really like seafood). Thanks Don.

The server gets 7? No no no no the server gets a 10 out of 10 from me. (Younger guy, a friend of the family we hear) Let's not forget he was at our table at every moment, at least 4 times before appetizers to check on drinks and practically translate the menu for in it's entirety after he made himself available to each and every person at the table.

And the tapas? I haven't seen portions like those ever - that was tapas, everything else served in this city is table scraps.

dammmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnit!

the official posts to date do not represent the unofficial posts of comments i've received from those who attended. i am super dis-o-pointed that i missed this meeting!!

bob and i will attend and provide our rating on a separate occaison.

from what i hear the price is right, the food is freakin' spectacular, the menu is definitely celiac friendly, and it's only a few blocks away.

what's been keeping this gem out of the spotlight?? official testimony to be confirmed...

What looks like a bit of a sketchy place on the outside turns out to be a hidden gem on the inside. Prompt, polite, and pleasant service, and from what I gathered, great seafood dishes. For those of us not-so-keen on "seabugs" the chicken dishes were quite good. I found mine (the chicken Don Alfonso) a little salty, as well as the Don Alfonso salad; however, I'm not big on super salty things anyhow.
The atmosphere is low-key and not too noisy, then again, we did have a room to ourselves! nice!
I'd say 8.5 outta 10.
